Athletics Strength & Conditioning Plans

Athletics​ Performance Programmes

Both Track and Field events require multiple functions from an Athlete although they are quite transferable within similar events (running, throwing, jumping).  
 
What you need:
  • Power & Strength- Whether you are throwing the shot put or sprinting 100m, you shall need to recruit higher levels of explosive strength and omit higher amounts of total force for you to overcome, and achieve the upper hand over your opponents.
  • Speed – Achieving speed of movement is determined by the amount of force you can produce. Speed-Strength is vital for an Athlete to move at maximum speed with the maximum load possible such as the shot put. For you as an Athlete to have the upper hand over your opponent, you need to be faster whilst having effective levels of body control and balance whilst producing higher levels of force.
  • Agility - Whether you are required to conduct linear (100m) or multi-planar (hurdles) movements whilst at speed, agility is vital. Your will need to require your body to move at maximum speed, pushing the limits of tendon, ligament and muscle force and strength, all whilst maintaining control.

Access to our extensive library of gym and pitch based S&C drills will give you the additional work for you to perform at intermittent periods during your weekly training.
 
 
How we can work together:
After our initial face-to-face consultation, a structured and tailored programme specific to your functional needs shall be produced which shall enhance your effectiveness as an Athlete. We shall have regular consultations to look at progress, reaffirm or set new goals and we shall also put you through Performance Testing and explain the outcomes. Remember, statistics are essential feedback tools.
